Great Expressions Named Employer of the Year by Kaplan College Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – July 19, 2012 – Kaplan College Jacksonville honored Great Expressions Dental Centers as Employer of the Year at its June 22 commencement ceremony.

Great Expressions Dental Centers was chosen for the award for its ongoing commitment to its partnership with Kaplan College and its students. Each year, Great Expressions proudly accepts Kaplan College students into its dental assistant externship program. Through completion of this program, students, such as recent Kaplan College graduate, Kellie Jones, gain onsite experience and job training.

“Kaplan College helped me select an externship where I would grow and enjoy my time,” said Jones. “With Great Expressions, I learned how to work with different dentists and patients in general practice, and it allowed me to do more with my education and develop experience.”

Great Expressions recently hired four Kaplan College Jacksonville graduates, including Jones.

“Kaplan College students and graduates are important assets to our practices,” said Dr. Robert Brody, Florida clinical and regional director, Great Expressions Dental Centers. “We are consistently impressed with the level of skill and commitment that Kaplan students bring to our offices.”

The partnership between Great Expressions Dental Centers and Kaplan College is an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship that provides Kaplan’s top students the opportunity to apply their education and gain real-world experience in the workplace.

“Our students can excel in the workplace after graduation because of the hands-on experience they gain at Great Expressions Dental Centers while in school,” said Kimmeco Greene, dental assisting program chair at Kaplan College Jacksonville. “It’s important to have an educational partner to support our students and help them launch their careers as dental assistants.”
