GEDC Donates $58,000 across Organization’s Footprint
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI (Jan. 25, 2016) – Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) donated $58,000 to community organizations throughout the United States in its annual profit sharing fundraiser in support of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s vision and dedication to community. For the sixth year in a row, the organization allotted five percent of the revenue generated through patient services from all offices on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to charitable efforts.
GEDC has contributed more than $350,000 since the inception of this initiative. Organizations and institutions receiving donations include The King Center, Morehouse College and Meharry School of Dentistry, The Children’s Center, Winning Futures, Ronald McDonald House, Uplift Our Youth and Make-A-Wish, among others. Patients supported the initiative by making appointments at GEDC offices on January 18 for hygiene treatments, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and more.
“We are delighted to see the continual growth of this annual fundraiser as doctors, staff and patients join together to support community organizations in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr’s legacy,” said Richard Beckman, CEO of Great Expressions Dental Centers. “The $58,000 that Great Expressions Dental Centers was able to donate this year alone will take on a life of its own through the great work of these outstanding organizations.”
The contribution marks a continued commitment to giving back on behalf of GEDC, with nearly $200,000 donated to charitable causes, including dental schools, Feeding Children Everywhere, Missions of Mercy, Team Smile, Boy Scouts of America, food banks and other organizations, in 2015.
