SMS stands for Short Message Service, and it is the same as text message, text, or TXT. SMS (text message) can be sent to and from a mobile phone.
By registering for our text messaging service, you will have the convenience of confirming your appointment via your mobile phone. This service allows you to do the following, directly from your mobile phone 24/7:
- Confirm dental appointments
View your account balance
View upcoming appointments
Get directions to your home office or next appointment
Patients must be 18 years of age or above to activate and use the Great Expressions Dental Centers text messaging service.
Yes. It can be used with all mobile phone handsets and mobile service providers that allow you to send and receive text messages. Supported carriers are AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Boost, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular®, T-Mobile®, Cellular One Dobson, Cincinnati Bell, Alltel, Virgin Mobile USA, Cellular South, Unicel, Centennial, and Ntelos.
If your phone is lost or stolen you should contact your local Great Expressions Dental Centers office to be removed from the text messaging service, and also report it to your mobile service provider.
Though Great Expressions Dental Centers does not charge you for this service, you are subject to all applicable messaging charges determined and applied by your wireless provider. Contact your wireless provider for specific information regarding your text messaging charges.
No. Your cell phone number is still associated with your account and you will not need to opt-in again.
Yes. You will need to opt-in with your new number. Remember to notify your Great Expressions dental office with your new number so we may update your account.
Opt-In and Opt-Out Process
You can opt-in by texting SUBSCRIBE to 98269 or 200100. All guarantors that provide a valid cell phone number during the patient registration and/or check-in process will automatically be enrolled in text message reminders.
You will be sent a message confirming your subscription and informing you of applicable message and data rates for all subsequent text messages.
All confirmation text messages and subsequent account alerts will begin with “GE Dental Info” and be sent by 98269 or 200100.
Confirm that you have text messaging enabled on your mobile device. You will need to contact your wireless service provider to set this up if you haven’t done so already. Once you have this enabled, you will receive a confirmation message from Great Expressions Dental Centers. You will not need to re-subscribe.
You may opt-out at any time by texting “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to 98269 or 200100.
You may request to begin receiving text message appointment confirmations by replying RESUME to 98269 or 200100.
Accounts With Dependents
No. All of your dependents will be tied to the account guarantor. You will only need to sign up for our text messaging system once and you will receive updates for all dependents on your account.
Each dependent will need to register their phone by using the same opt-in method above, providing they are 18 years of age or older. If you’d like to authorize a dependent to receive alerts for all individuals on the account, you will need to contact your local office to make the change.
Appointment Confirmations
You will receive your confirmation text message five (5) days prior to your scheduled appointment and three (3) days prior to your appointment if you did not respond to the first confirmation text.
Reply “YES” to the confirmation text message. You will receive a reply message from “GE Dental Info” thanking you for your confirmation.
You are not able to reschedule your appointment via our text message system. Simply contact the office prior to your appointment to cancel or reschedule.

If you have multiple appointments scheduled in the same day, you will receive a text message for each appointment. You will need to respond to the first confirmation message in order to receive the second confirmation message.
You will receive a separate message for each person’s appointment. They will be sent one at a time and you will need to reply to each text message in order to receive the next message.
Receiving Your Balance
Text “BAL” to 98269. You will receive a message with your account balance. It is a cumulative balance for all individuals on your account.
No. You will only receive one balance for all persons associated with your Great Expressions account.
No. At this time, you cannot pay your account balance via text message.
Viewing Upcoming Appointments
Text “APPT” to 98269 or 200100. You will receive a message with your next appointment date, time, and location.
Text “APPT” to 98269 or 200100. You will receive a message with your dependent’s next appointment date, time, and location.
No. You will receive your appointment confirmation text message(s) five (5) days prior to your appointment date to confirm.
